JMIR Aging Receives New Journal Impact Factor


(Toronto, ON, June 19, 2025) JMIR Publications is pleased to announce that JMIR Aging has received a Journal Impact Factor of 4.8, as published in Journal Citation Reports 2025 from Clarivate. JMIR Aging maintains its #1 position in the “Gerontology” category (ranked #1 of 48) and first quartile (Q1) positions in the “Geriatrics and Gerontology” (ranked #12 of 73) and “Medical Informatics” (ranked #11 of 48) categories.

This achievement highlights the sustained influence and continued importance of research on health care services and health outcomes for older adults. The sustained high ranking of JMIR Aging underscores the collective commitments and contributions of authors, peer reviewers, editors, and journal staff, along with the dedicated leadership of the journal’s co–editors in chief, Jinjiao Wang, PhD, RN, MPhil (professor, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio School of Nursing), and Yun Jiang, PhD, MS, RN, FAMIA (associate professor, Department of Systems, Populations and Leadership, School of Nursing, University of Michigan).

JMIR Aging also recently received a 2024 CiteScore of 6.6, ranking in Q1 for the following three categories: Health (Social Science), Nursing (Gerontology), and Medicine (Geriatrics and Gerontology). CiteScore is a 4-year average of citations, based on Elsevier Scopus data.
